The NSCP carefully read through all the thoughts that were shared to ensure it understood the barriers pharmacists said they are facing, and then grouped those thoughts into major themes.

Those themes were:
1. Time and staffing
2. Paperwork / process
3. Understanding regulatory requirements
4. Confidence in clinical knowledge
5. Working conditions
6. Business deliverables
7. Technical support
8. Physical environment
9. Relationship with NSCP

After carefully considering each of the theme areas, the NSCP next identified what it could do within its mandate to help address these barriers, and then assigned actions to them under the NSCP’s 2016-2018 Strategic Plan.
